WHAT IS REQUIRED

PRESCRIPTION REFERRAL OPTIONAL

Missouri state law allows physical therapists to provide treatment without a referral from a licensed health care provider such as physician, chiropractor, dentist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or podiatrist.

WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION

Missouri state law allows therapy treatments without a prescription to (1) treat a chronic illness that has been previously diagnosed by an approved health care provider, (2) provide treatment for any person with a recurring self-limited injury within one year of diagnosis by an approved health care provider or (3) develop fitness or wellness programs.

CONSENT TO TREAT

Client consent is required to provide an established plan of care set forth by a licensed physical therapist for your rehabilitative treatment and care.
